The incumbent will assist in the development and implementation of corporate fundraising strategy to support delivery of program services, and operations. Will develop and implement local fundraising initiatives to garner community support. Will research grants for which HHFii is eligible and provide assistance in the writing of grant proposals.

Skills

 Experience in local and corporate fundraising preferred but not required. Strong research and communication skills required. Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Non-Profit Management, Public Relations Public Administration or related programs preferred. Familiarity with not-for-profit environment with orientation or expertise in Public Relations, Marketing and/or fundraising preferred. Experience writing grant proposals strongly desired. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, and Internet.

Public Relations Associate

Public Relations Associate Job Description (Volunteer)

The Public Relations Associate will be responsible for the development and implementation of a public relations plan which will facilitate marketing of the organization and its services while also assisting in branding the organization. The candidate will be responsible for developing a press kit, writing and placing press releases, assisting with the development of the image of the organizations and general communications to the community and other partners. The Associate will be responsible for the publishing and dissemination of the newsletter as well as developing community based coalitions to assist the organization in reaching clients as well as strengthening community infra-structure. The incumbent will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a client database.

Skills

Demonstrated written and oral communication skills. Experience developing and placing press releases as well as developing a press kit or willingness to learn. Experience in community mobilization through the development of coalitions. Experience building client base and using the client base as a source of sustainable fundraising. Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Must be detail and results oriented as well as mission focused.

Program Development Intern

Job Title: Program Development Intern (Volunteer)

Reports To: President and CEO

 

Summary: The incumbent will assist in the development and implementation of strategy to build a faith-based initiative for collaboration in the delivery of program services as well as develop program areas to ensure delivery of services to our target population.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop coalition of community-based organizations to expand the delivery of HHFii services.
  • Prepare mailings and faxes, as required, to disseminate and receive completed questionnaires.
  • Act as liaison with religious organizations to plan and implement “Disparities in Healthcare Outcomes Summit” in conjunction with the Institute for Urban Family Health.
  • Act as liaison with community-based organizations and the media to plan, market and implement a community fair.
  • Develop the strategy for the full development/expansion of the College Enhancement Program and the Human Development Program
  • Develop and implement strategy to operate a legal clinic and naturalization drive
  • Assist with research and development of other program areas
  • Develop network of (((religious organizations across New York City that are willing to collaborate with HHFii in the delivery of services and collect and analyze the data collected to facilitate the development of reports.
  • Assist with grant writing initiatives

Requirements:

  • Enrollment in a graduate program in Not-for-Profit Management, Public Administration, or a related program preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with community based organizations in the provision of services preferred.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as member of team.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Familiarity with not-for-profit environment with orientation or expertise in Public Relations/Marketing and or program development.

Fundraising Intern

Summary: The incumbent will assist in the development and implementation of corporate fundraising strategy to support program services and growth and expansion.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Chairperson of the fundraising committee to develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy for the calendar year.(((
  • Research grants for which HHFii is eligible and provide assistance in the writing of grant proposals
  • Develop and implement local fundraising initiatives to garner community support.
  • Develop and manage recognition program for donors.
  • Coordinate HHFii Immigrants’ Community Awards Dinner
  • Develop and maintain database of donors, and advertisers.
  • Collaborate with Public Relations Intern to develop and manage advertising database.
  • Develop and manage the issuance of tax credits for donations.
  • Collaborate with the Public Relations/Marketing Intern and Marketing Committee to market fundraising events.
  • Gather, analyze and manage data to be used in the application for grant funds.
  • Prepare reports and assist with projects as may be required.

Summary: The incumbent will assist in the development and implementation of strategy to build a faith-based initiative for collaboration in the delivery of program services and fund-raising activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop/update Press/Public Relations kit for HHFii to be used to market services and fundraising events.
  • Develop/update and implement PR/Marketing strategy to market HHFii, its services, and milestones.
  • Develop and/or organize the development of marketing materials as needed.
  • Develop Corporate Public Relations/Marketing plan in conjunction with the chairperson of the Marketing committee
  • Develop and manage database of media to be used for advertising categorizing by cost.
  • Develop and manage a database of clients accessing HHFii services.
  • Develop and manage confirmed((( list of religious and community-based organizations across New York City willing to collaborate with HHFii in the provision of services.
  • Manage the integrity of the demographic data on religious and community-based organizations being entered into the database.
  • Act as liaison with religious organizations to plan and implement “Disparities in Healthcare Outcomes Summit” in conjunction with the Institute for Urban Family Health.
